The feud between the brothers was first rumoured around the time that Prince Harry began dating Meghan Markle. It was reported that Prince William had asked his brother to slow down the romance, which was moving ahead at speed.
Royal experts discussed the rift on the Channel 5 documentary titled 2021: The Queen’s Terrible Year.
Royal expert Emily Nash said: “The Queen made it clear in her statement in response to the Oprah interview that Harry Megan remained much loved members of the family.
“And it’s clear that, you know, the falling out between the brothers in particular will be very hard for her to bear.
“Particularly given that she took a close interest in their upbringing following the loss of their mother.

“You know, these are two brothers who have been inseparable for many years. And it’s incredibly sad to see things and the way they have.”
The foursome then seemingly put their troubles to one side, and partnered up becoming what was dubbed “The Fab Four.”
In October 2019, the internet went into a frenzy when Prince Harry pretty much admitted there was a rift.

He said: “Part of this role and part of this job, and this family, being under the pressure that it’s under, inevitably, you know, stuff happens,” when asked about the rumored feud during ITV’s documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey.
He added: “But look, we’re brothers, we’ll always be brothers. And we’re certainly on different paths at the moment, but I’ll always be there for him, as I know he’ll always be there for me.”
He continued: “We don’t see each other as much as we used to because we’re so busy, but you know, I love him dearly.
The majority of this stuff [in the press] is created out of nothing, but you know, as brothers, you know, you have good days, you have bad days.”

Months later Meghan and Harry stepped down as senior royals, and subsequently moved to California.
Prince Harry has only returned twice to the UK since the move, and Meghan hasn’t returned at all.
